| Meet the pageant director......... |
|
MUTYA SA DIPOLOG 2005 Acting is her passion; she loves literature and directing stage play. She’s also blessed with great imagination and creativity that makes her this year’s Mutya sa Dipolog’s director and choreographer. Eldy Antiquina-Jaboneta, 34 years of age, the daughter of a pure Dipolognon, Mr. and Mrs. Rodolfo and Elsie Antiquina, is a graduate of Siliman University, Dumaguete City with the degree of Bachelor of Arts Major in Speech and Theatre Arts. She was first employed in her Alma matter as a Resident Stage Manager of Claire Isabel Mc Gill Luce auditorium, and then became a part-time faculty member in Speech and Theatre Arts Department and she devoted the rest of her eleven years as a stage director. When she found her better half, she chose to stay in her hometown-Dipolog City. Then, she tried her luck at Andres Bonifacio College as a full time college instructor teaching Literature, Argumentation and Debate and became the AB College’s stage play director for about three years. She has been directing and choreographed several beauty pageants like Miss Siliman 1991 and 1992, stage plays such as Half Hour in the Convent, The Doll House, Norman, Is That You?, A Marriage Proposal, Ang Peke, Brighton Beach Memoirs and West Side Story. Her future plan is to direct a musical play like “Oliver!” and “Les Miserables” and plays which will be participated by children in elementary to enhance their talents and to be able to cultivate their inclination to performing arts. Because of her great enthusiasm in theatre, she would like to present a Broadway-type of Mutya sa Dipolog, a new style of putting up a beauty pageant in collaboration of Broadway and modern-jazz music together with a multi-media presentation and a Broadway type stage. As a dignified Mutya sa Dipolog, each of the candidates must be well disciplined. In order to bring out their subtlety, Eldy would like the young ladies to follow some rules and regulations during rehearsals; no using of cell phones during choreography rehearsals, tardiness and in attentiveness is a big no-no. Be professional in everything that they do is the key to have a better learning and to achieve a remarkable presentation. |
